HELP WANTED !!
Do you want to find a way to spend more
quality time with your children?
Are you looking for a way to give back to the community?
Would you like to earn some extra money on weekends?
If you answered “YES” to any of these
questions, please consider volunteering your time to the Paola
Soccer Club (PSC).
We are currently in need of coaches … any
and all age groups. Our website, www.paolasoccer.com, is
filled with information on coaching tips and drills. Over the
years PSC has bought or donated videos and books on soccer to
the Paola public library. It’s a great way to teach children
about sports and about life. Please contact Chuck Schmidt or
any of our other Board members if you are interested.
Paola Soccer Club is also looking for
additional volunteers. PSC is a completely volunteer
organization. The only one’s who get paid are the referees.
Our volunteers serve many purposes: setting up our fields,
putting up and taking down goals and nets, performing field
maintenance, running the concession stand, coaching, and
refereeing are just a few. Mostly, they are the heart and soul
of our club. Contact any of our Board members if you are
interested. Their names are listed on our website.
Do you or your children want to make some
extra money on Saturdays? We are always in the need of
referees. Referees can make anywhere from $6 to $18 for
refereeing a single game. Many of our referees can make $40-50
in a single Saturday ! What do YOU need to do? If you’re 13 or
older, the best thing is to get certified through one of many
certification clinics offered through the Kansas State Youth
Soccer Association (KSYSA). Go to www.kansasreferee.com
to check for available referee clinics. July is the best time
to find one … right before the fall season begins. Its fun …
you get exercise AND you get paid !! Adults are encouraged and
