Two Touch
Shooting with Keeper Drill
Purpose:
To develop
basic shooting techniques.
Procedure:
The
squad is split into groups of three, with one player acting as
goalkeeper. The drill takes place in an area 40x50 yards wide.
Posts are placed in the ground 8 yards apart, halfway up the
length of the area. Each player is allowed two touches of the
ball before he shoots at the goal; if the goalkeeper saves the
ball, or if it travels past the goal, it is collected by the
other player who then shoots as the goalkeeper turns to face the
shot. The players change over after a set time period and scores
are recorded.
Development:
(a)
The players can practice varying techniques, such as volleys or
swerved shots.
(b) Another player may be introduced to act as a
defender and put in challenges to add more realism to the game. |
