SUMMER SOCCER ACTIVITIES - Just because the spring season has wrapped up doesn't mean soccer has ended  Beginning the first Wednesday after Memorial weekend, we'll begin our bi-weekly open soccer.  Sunday and Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:30pm we'll have open soccer for all ages.  We play on the field located between the high school and Sunflower Elementary.  Bring your game, some water and lots of spirit.  When we say all ages, we mean it.  Young or old, fast or slow.

Check back for more summer activities.  Coach Matt Higgins will be setting up a summer conditioning program.  His high school camp will be the last week of July - the 28th - 31st from 6 - 8:30pm.

For a list of possible summer soccer camps, click HERE.  We try to keep it as updated as possible.  If you know of other camps, please let us know.

NOTE:  PSC's next board meeting is June 3rd at the Fort Scott Community College at 7pm.

Fall soccer is in the air.  Yea!  A great time of the year for kids, parents and grand parents.  We are excited about this year’s fall season.  We have coaches that are excited about working with our youth and kids who want to learn how to play the game better.  A great combination.  The Paola Soccer Board is also planning in introducing to our coaches and players from U8 – U14 to the Paola Soccer Academy.  We have decided to expand an idea that we piloted a number of years ago and bring it back with more emphasis and opportunity.  We will be hiring an experienced soccer player/teacher/coach to work with the U8 – 14’s each week.   For a session each week, he/she will be leading all teams of the same age group through ball technique skills and drills.  Each coach will have his/her players come to one location and have that practice run by the club’s academy instructor and then follow that up with their own team practice on a different night of the week.  This will allow for all players to be exposed to the same skills and techniques that they should be learning at their age and skill level.  Each coach will be able to assist their players and also learn or see new skills and techniques themselves.  The Board is excited about this opportunity.

Thank you for your involvement.  We are open for new energy.  If you are looking forward to the season and would love to help during it, please so not hesitate to contact me or any board member personally or through the web site.

John Freeman
President,
Paola Soccer Club
